The City of Peoria is transforming the 83rd Avenue corridor into a pedestrian friendly regional destination. Peoria Eighty Three, known as P83, serves as a gateway to the City and to numerous entertainment and dining venues. Pedestrian connectivity and safety between a spring training baseball facility east of 83rd Avenue and dining and entertainment venues west of 83rd Avenue would be enhanced through the construction of this project.
The project comprised of designing of a 2-stage High-intensity Activated CrosswalK (HAWK) across 83rd Avenue between Stadium Way and Mariners Way, sidewalk improvements, and aesthetic design elements that tie into the P83 Entertainment District theme. The TRACE team completed topographic survey, utility coordination, final construction documents, roadway and pedestrian enhancement design, landscape design, signing and striping plans, and the incorporation of artistic elements including an enhanced HAWK crossing per P83 Entertainment District theming.
