Deer Valley Airport (DVT) Acute Angle Connectors Runway 7L/25R (A6, A8)

Client City of Phoenix Aviation Department
Location Deer Valley Airport, Phoenix, AZ

Project Detail

TRACE provided engineering design and topographic survey services for the construction of two new acute angle taxiway connectors: A6 and A8. DVT is one of the nation’s busiest general aviation airports and is a reliever for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The goal of this project was the addition of acute angle taxiway connectors, which would reduce runway occupancy time, thereby increasing airport operations efficiency.

The project design incorporated new taxiway fillet design per FAA Advisory Circular 150-5300/13A, Change 1. Taxiways A6 and A8 were constructed with flexible pavement consisting of P-401 asphaltic concrete and a P-209 crushed aggregate base course on a P-155 lime treated subgrade. Additional construction items included new electrical hand holes to route the runway homerun circuit, taxiway edge lighting, runway guard lights, and pavement markings. The project was funded and approved by the FAA and ADOT.
